Paint Colors

SBU structures are "stick built" on site and therefore the materials arrive unpainted.  A finished wood structure will be similar to the picture shown here  (unless you purchase an Inventory Model that has already been painted).  

If you prefer to not paint your building, Ohio Outdoor Structures has individuals for referral.  Their rates are very affordable and they're willing to give you a quote.  Please ask for referral information.

Building sheds and large barns on customers' sites has always been the business model of Storage Buildings Unlimited (SBU).
     Built-On-Site Advantages:  
  • You're not limited to what can be legally hauled on the highway
  • Available: Steeper Roof Pitches, Post & Beam Foundation, Permanent Custom Ramps, etc.​
  • Many believe Built-On-Site is a better long-term method than delivering an already built building
  • A gravel pad is not required
  • Don't worry if you have a fenced-in backyard or other obstacles preventing the delivery of an already built building.  ​

While SBU's specialty is on-site construction, they also offer a line of prebuilt buildings.

DOORS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL:
Don’t make the mistake of overlooking how important shed door construction is. The first thing to fail on a typical building is the doors. That is why we’ve designed and build the patented Super Door.  Super Doors are built using industry leading strength. With 2x6 and 2x8 framing we double and even triple the strength over the average shed door. This frame is 100% back screw with over 200 screws while the industry uses nails or even staples! The Super Doors are attached with 50 screws in each heavy gauge piano hinges.
COMMON SENSE CONSTRUCTION:
  • Use more lumber to make it stronger – We frame 16″ and 12″ on center rather than 24″
  • Use the thickest part of the board for strength – We place our wall studs and floor joists on edge rather than laying them flat
  • Use screws rather than staples – We completely screw our rafters, doors and hinges together rather than gang nailing, stapling and nailing

Our premium wood siding has proven itself with decades of great performance in all weather types, and keeps looking great.
Composite sidings which have become the industry standard have had a 25 year pattern of failure and class action lawsuits. Google is your friend here.  To get you started, here is a list of composite sidings that have failed and have had class action lawsuits brought against them: LP Inner Seal, Masonite Hardboard, Jarratt Lap, Catawba, Weyerhaeuser Hardboard, Abitibi-Price, Jefferson Smurfit, Masonite Omniwood, Forestex.  Be sure to watch the video to learn how to spot composite wood sidings.
